Update (5/12/2009)! : EllinForest has joined an alliance with the second English guild, Century! The guild alliance has been named "외국인". Century is led by Percocet, TehMatt's alternate cygnus character, and the guild will be comprised of new players who are unable to join EllinForest, multiple accounts from members currently in EF, and any other forum members who would like to join it. Century follows the same rules as EllinForest, and all members who want to join must first fill out an application on the forum.

EllinForest Information

EllinForest was created in December of 2008 after much frustration due to the lack of an active leader in the Sleepywood guild. It currently houses a maximum of 80 users, and its slots are full almost constantly, although many of the users have become inactive. Inactive users are kicked frequently to make room for new users, so when you join, make sure to be active!

The guild is comprised of members from many different countries, who speak many different languages. The main language spoken in the guild is English, though we greatly encourage our members to try to learn Korean as well. We have several Korean players in our guild and constantly get requests from other Koreans to join & help improve their English skills. EllinForest is a somewhat famous guild on Culverin, and is known as the "foreigner guild" to many Korean players.

Helios was created in July 2010 to provide space for the large influx of new members for the Big Bang patch. Helios is also very similar to EllinForest and Century. All three guilds are allied and alliance chat is encouraged in each. More expansions are planned for the future.

How to Join

So, you want to join one of the guilds? It's easy. Click the image below to be taken to the form where you can submit an application. A junior leader will try to invite you within one week of your application. If you do not receive your invitation within this time, please whisper one of the junior leaders in-game, or PM them on the forum.

No, just try to contact a JR in game. However, both guilds are kind of full at the moment so it isn't a sure-fire thing that people are getting in.

if your not able to get in guild since it might be full and all, will you still be able to add ppl(their buddy list could be full too)(one who knows korean and can translate) to ask them question for translations, i went on the translation guide and the korean characters dont come up, it shows me a box with 4 numbers or letters, 2 on top and 2 on bottom. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please get back to me, if i get to see the regi guide and i get in kms i dont wanna be nagging the guild or buddy everytime for little thiings.

If you're added then you were accepted. However, it is hard for me/others to seek all the applicants out. There are SOOO many to look through and then find the ones that are on in KMS. It'd be better if you seeked me out and then told me your forum name so I can find your app quickly, close it, and add you.

Sometimes I think the system JMS had of having several small guilds rather than one large one would be a lot better for the overall community. It's so cheap now to expand to 100 though that I guess it doesn't appeal to as many people anymore. =P

Indeed. Several guild masters, several more juniors/etc.
You could just make 2-3 guilds on mules, matt, not expand them and just alliance them.

Oh I was thinking of the fee being 5m. Even then, it's still sort of cheaper. All you need to do is an active leader.

The original fees have always been 6m for expansions (total) until 30 members, plus 5m for emblem, and after that 5m for every expansion after that [1m per slot, to make it simple].

Oh well, if it's still 5m for expansions past 30 it is indeed cheaper to leave guilds 30 members or smaller still.

Because expanding 3 guilds to 30 members and allying them would be:
11m per guild, if you want emblems [33m total]
Even including alliance costs it's still under 40m total

vs

One guild to 90:
Up to 30 slots with emblem [11m]
12 expands x 5m [60m] AKA 1m per slot

That doesn't change the fact that it's already been done, though. xD It's not like all the money put into EF/CY would come back if we made new, small guilds. =P The max number of guilds per alliance is 5, also, iirc. So it'd only suffice for 150 slots without going past 30, resulting in roughly the same slots EF/CY combined have currently.
