Hey, I wanted to share with you guys a new game i discovered. It is called Minecraft, yes you might think it is some game like warcraft or WoW. It isn't, it is a java based game currently in the alpha stage and going beta very soon. There are two modes, survival and creative (there is also multiplayer). In survival you basicly build a fort and hide from monsters during the night and gather resources to further improve your base during the day. The game world is made of "bricks" which you can destroy and put back. If you are bored i suggest searching this up. Here are some videos :P.

This game looks really fun! Can't wait till the full game comes out, so my boyfriend and I can play survival and stuff together. :cute:

"New" Not new, but an amazing game none the less. Hope all of the crashing glitches get fixed soon. Sunk like 500+ hours into a map only to have the game crash after 10 minutes of gameplay :emo:

I remember MineCraft back when it was in open beta.

Such an epic game.

I highly recommend everyone to play this game at least once.

It is still in alpha. That is before beta. Hasn't been in beta yet.

Its been in beta? This came out in 2009 and is in development xD i paid 13 dollars for it, hope it becomes really big :P

The "alpha/beta" tags are just BS for minecraft, the game has been done for a long time, they're just adding stuff in now.

Anyway, multiplayer has been out for a good while, and it's got enough "support" to be able to create a subscription system, that's for sure. I think he's just fooling around, the game is done enough, he's just holding it in that phase so he can screw around and say "oh it was a test".

He only just released Survival Multiplayer to the public, with tons of glitches and lags while he went to multiple video gaming conventions with the intention of people finding and reporting glitches for him to fix while he was gone. He still has a lot to add that he said he wanted to add before he got rid of the alpha label. Can't wait for beta though :boss:

I doubt he'll ever get rid of it, it's the same thing kongregate did, they were under "beta" for almost 5 years, until someone bought them, and NOTHING changed, but mysteriously, no longer in beta. It's just a ploy to get sponsors to buy them and try to get some creative control.

The game is really good as of now, it could use new features, systems, and bug fixes. The multiplayer is unfinished :(

Well, he released it before he left to go to multiple gaming conventions in the hopes that people will spot any errors, tell him, and he will be able to either make a quick solution for the time being, or spot it and fix it permanently when he gets back.

I love the single and multi-player creation modes, it's a ton of fun building stuff, and going to servers and seeing what other people have built. :D Yesterday I spent an hour or so on a random server helping about 4-5 other people build a subway, then I got banned from that server because the admin thought I was messing with other people's stuff, even though I wasn't, but on another server, my new home server, I built giant sprites of Pinky, Megaman, and am working on Luigi. :boss: I spent 5 hours straight playing it after school yesterday I think. :xd:

I have to be honest I didn't pay for the game as well. But how do you get ores and such? Like the advanced ones? All the good stuff ;p? I don't see where I can find it?

You mean the survival mode or whatever? I only play the in-browser Classic versions. Can you get the full version via torrents or something?

I didn't buy the game but since I love it so much I'm going to buy it after it finishes alpha. Notch deserves it.

But it's done alpha. And if you buy it during alpha, no matter what comes after, your game/account will be upgraded to it since you already paid for the game. It's still in alpha since the creator wants to test things out before making it an official release where he can only update after he's done a series of tests. So you could say it's the admins way of having fun?

You get those from monsters in survival. String from spiders, feathers from chickens and zombies and flint from mining rocks.

I guess I'm playing survival? At night theres monsters that kill :P, do you know how to heal yourself as well? I thought kill a cow, loot the meat and double click it but it doesn't do anything? What can I do?

Put it into a usable slot, right click.

I want to buy the full version after Alpha for two reasons. It'll cost more and I want to give him the extra 5 bucks because I like the game (Yes, I know you can also donate. Ironically, I'm much to lazy to donate and would rather just buy the game.) The second reason is because after Alpha the game will probably really finished/smooth which will make multiplayer more fun. It might even have some sort of griefer protection too. I don't really want to play multiplayer at this point anyway.

You have an inventory everywhere. o.o
I believe you can only craft in survival.

Having you world be snowy is just a random variable you get when making a new save.

So I just spent about 3 hours trying to make a sign that says "ELLIN FOREST" I got it all in one place after a while. But then I realized there was this HUGE mine infront of it. Determined, I mined through 75% of it and then go to check how much is left, it looks good but I can't get a good shot. So instead I got a nice shot of it at night split in half. Still looks great.

@grungyhobo if udont want to download a torrent there is a megaupload file pretty everyone is downloading minecraft from. if u type in google im sure u can find the file

As far as I know, you need to buy the game to be able to play multiplayer, like most other games.
