View Full Version : Data089.zip CMS
I've downloaded all of the files from the CMS website, but it keeps telling me that I need a password to unzip Data089.zip. Any ideas?

Does the website say anything about that? Though this might be the wrong forum to ask, most, if not all of us don't play CMS.

The website doesn't say anything about it. I was asking in the "other maplestory versions" section because I had seen a few CMS players around before.

You don't extract the zip files.
Make sure you downloaded all the three things you'll need.
1.) The client Maplestory.exe
2.) Part 1 and 2 data.zip
Then just put them in one folder, and execute maplestory.exe, it'll automatically open a installer and extract the zip files that are password protected.
Also make sure one is .z01 file, while one is a .zip. If their both .zip it won't work.

Hmm, see, I've been trying this. Every time I click on the MapleStory.exe file, it says "Data089.zip" and doesn't do anything else :(

That should mean that your missing the .zip file.
Your file extensions might be screwed up.
Make sure Data089.zip is 1126.4MB.
Make sure Data089.z01 is 1147.0MB.
Respectively, make sure the zip file is smaller then the .z01 file.
Check that none of the files are corrupt as well.
My files are 1134 and 1153 approximately. I've redownloaded them from the official website multiple times, and still no luck :(

My language is set to Korean if that has anything to do with it.\
I found a few Chinese forum posts relating to this topic, but nobody had a solution for these people either.

Try deleting the 7za.dll file, and changing to Simplified Chinese(PRC) unicode page.
Since it only stated -insert file name-, when I first installed it the error popped up TELLING me that I needed "-insert file name-".
BUT it SHOULD just be your language settings.
:( :( I changed to Simplified Chinese and the error looked exactly the same ;-;

Check your security settings.. maybe something is blocking the client from acessing the .zip file. Firewall or Antivirus maybe?
Also check your registry, if it has anything that could interfere with acessing the file.
Other then that.. I don't what else you can do. = C
