Ultimate Fail - Nexon EU are using an unlicensed copy of Hackshield

I figured I'd share some light on the situation:
Last month I emailed Ahnlab to inform them that Nexon Europe was using MapleSEA's HackShield on EMS. A week later I received a reply saying Ahnlab would contact Nexon to resolve this issue. On the v74 patch, I was IP banned by Nexon from using HackShield, so I decided to make a public topic about the issue here in the hope that they'd go back to using a legal version of HackShield. I was banned from this forum for 1 week for making that topic. (Why?!).

The reason people disconnect every 5 minutes is because Ahnlab has disabled HackShield's main function (it's heartbeat) on EMS.

This disconnection can be avoided by changing channel or entering cash shop before the heartbeat kicks in.

Two days ago I received this response after updating them about being IP banned:

yeah the topic was deleted a couple of times before. nexoneu does have a hackshield license but because they went copy paste mad, they brought maplesea's hackshield! XD

Well I've played EMS since 2009. In 2010 euNexon started to copy ALL patches, events, EVERYTHING from GMS / SEA. Not from KMS cuz too lazy to translate. euNexon gave BB without SP from deleted Skills. After a week, they gave us SP resets. Ofc with fail, no1 could log in on his main (couldnt log in with my 14X Paladin, other chars were working).
euNexon wants only $$$. They didnt repair mains, sp reset! THEY REPAIRED CASH SHOP ISSUES @ 1ST ! /facepalm

Well i dare say this company IS THAT BAD. I said once - i won't hold praise for them when they deserve it, but i also won't hold back to stomp them when they do the usual - that is nexon fail.

First off - Nexon is making a HUGE profit off Ems. In short, they got all they need to make it work right.

Now a good gaming company:

Maintains their game like this:
1. has numerous gms that don't wake up at same time as bats in player's country.
2. has a development team that handles game matters fast, without having to wait for outside help each time.
3. has properly large testing team and again dev team that won't let any GAME BREAKING bugs slip through to public release.
4. Reads the removed mails from customers. Faster you fix it, the less megabytes of eois about same problem in your inbox.
5. When there's a big problem they don't play dumb, only post IMMEDIATLY on their website "We are aware of it and working our rears off to fix it"
6. in extreme cases shut down servers till above is done.

Handles customer relations the following ways:
1. Each update/maintance etc is clearly labeled what's it about (bug fix, hax fix, pach, or just server maintance).
2. With time of the operation specified, or if unknown, just clearly stated "till it's done"
3. They don't change approach to customers each week (one time it's nearly as stated above, other "you figure yourself what's up")
4. Dev team and testing team accually reading the forums, and maybe (could it be?!) replying from time to time.
5. They give meaningful response to eoi. If it's auto, because it's mail # 34561 about wh mine hackers, then at least make the auto message
meaningful like "we're aware of wh mine hacks, and are working on patching it".
6. refunds players cash value of items they lost cause of company's own actions (like 2x cards and pet gear made useless after big bang, or exp cards made useless through unnanounced emergency server checks)

Makes money like this:
1 sells their cash items cheap, and comes off well, cause poorer players (who are majority) can afford some too and buy it as well.
2. Keeps game rules clear and strict and deals quickly with breaking of them - much less ppl rage quitting and as result not buying anything.
Infact they might bring friends in which might mean profit if they're happy with service.


Nexon:

Maintains their game like this:
1. Game Masters - I am ninja, he is ninja and she's a ninja too...we are ninjas and i belive you are a ninja too!
2. Dev team ninjas are learning some english as we speak - Arigato gozaimasu!
3. Dev ninja meeting: "Testing ninjas found 547 bugs in tespia code, including 10 critical ones. Let's pick one critical and 10 minor ones we fix before release." YOOO!
4. "We have mails about numerous hacks and bugs!" - mass substitution justu used, auto reply program activated.-
5. "Game is totally broken (original word replaced by censor ninjas), nearly impossible to play!" "Shhhh...THEY might hear you...maybe they won't realize. Also fix cash shop, it's always good for the game."
6. "We should shut down servers, it's apocalypse there!" "He is right. Shut down mail server, NOW!". -All go for ramen and some sake-

Handles customer relations the following ways:

1. esc/maintance/update notice - ninja'd!
2. "you have 2 hours... to prepare for 4 more..ninja'd!"
3. "Things are not looking good, we know about bugs etc, we will...eh? oooooh..it's 3rd week not 2nd..ok shhhh then, forgot it's silent week."
4. "Grandmaster! I report dev ninjas and testing ninjas are safely sealed off from forums, and we're keeping players away from any serious nexon staff. Our email contacts with few mods work well, for them we could be either on nothern pole or Bali:)"
5. "years of meditation have payed off, we now have one golden reply to eny incoming email, we knew becoming ninjas was the way to go!"
6. "Grandmaster, many player's nx items become unusable because of our patch/server check. i highly remmend a refu...URK!!" (sounds of ninja swords slashing, strangled ninja, fireballs shooting across the room). "Stupid genin! Get his remains outta here!"


Makes money like this:
1. "Are our nx prices highest around now?"
"Erm..highest along with MSEA."
"Grrrr....."
"But our currency costs 1.7 more then theirs!"
"You make me proud my ninjas:) After all we worked so hard on fixing and updating our cash shop we deserve to reap most benefits")"
"OOOS!"

2. "Sir our income is decreasing - ppl mass quitting because of hackers and bugs, and big bang killed off 2x exp cards - serious source of incomes"
"Worry not, pmd will save the day. If it gets worse just raise nx prices more and extend pmd..But shhhh...this must not leave this room.")

it's not a case of being lazy to translate, it's most likely LACK of translators and apparently my friends sister was going to work for Nexon EU but rejected it because she speaks English, German and Korean and instead teaches German.

and not all versions are even allowed content from certain versions, did you ever think of that?

there is a screenshot flying around somewhere of a eMS GM (one i personally hate) asking her friends to translate patch things for her lol
