EllinForest Zakum - June 27

so we're doing a zakum run. hopefully the date & time will be 10:00 AM EST on saturday, june 27th. check the EF calendar to see what time it is in your timezone. signup here if you want to join. also if someone could check the insoya boss board for culverin to make sure this time slot is open, it'd be greatly appreciated.. for some reason I can't view it on my account anymore.. >_>

some info about zakum:

arm 1 - drains your HP/MP
arm 2 - F/P attacks
arm 3 - curse arm
arm 4 - physical damage
arm 5 - drains your HP/MP
arm 6 - I/L attacks
arm 7 - heal arm
arm 8 - physical damage

I've found that this method of killing is the most efficient for new groups like ours. first, we kill the heal arm so zakum can't keep healing himself while we're trying to kill him. inevitably, the right physical damage arm will also be taken out during this time. after those, the ranged attackers head off to kill one of the HP/MP drain arms. unfortunately, melee classes can't reach this arm, so they go to one that they can reach, the fire/poison attack arm. once the ranged classes have completed one of the drain arms, they go to finish off the ice/lightning attack arm, which was more than likely hurt a lot during the last few arm kills. once the full right side of zakum is defeated, the ranged attackers go to the second HP/MP drain arm while the melee attackers are still killing the fire/poison arm. after the HP/MP drain arm is gone, the ranged attackers rejoin the melee attackers on their path, first killing the fire/poison arm, then the physical damage arm. we leave the curse arm for last due to a possible need for regrouping. with only the curse arm left, the party members are able to leave their computers to go to the bathroom / get a drink / etc, or the parties are able to be rearranged for the body fights. once all that is taken care of, we kill the bodies!

if you have trouble remembering this order, just follow everyone else! steve will probably have a different order than anyone else since he's a weirdo who can kill arm 6.

no, they did write in that section. we're just not able to view it for some reason.. I remember before when I wasn't logged in it showed up as empty, but after I logged in it would show all the posts. it was only that section that it happened to.

just a note so you're all aware.. for all of you who are 7x-8x, you might not be in a party, so make sure you can take a hit from zakum without HB. the recommended amount of HP needed without a helm is 3100, and with a helm.. I don't really remember.. but I think it's about 2800, correct me if I'm wrong.

it depends. if either of you have enough HP by saturday to survive zakum without HB, you'll be in the main party without it (or with it, depending on whether or not terry's DK gets transferred over through the merge). there's a lot of factors at play right now. I'll get the parties finalized when we know more (on friday).

I just ran into possible trouble. Alex, being the douche he always is, just said he will not wake me up (unless he changes his mind when my alarm goes off at 6 in the morning). I am a heavy sleeper do to genetics, and a lifestyle that might be deemed "unhealthy." Forgive me if I oversleep the run because it is ay 7AM PST, which is quite early for me. I'll still try to make sure he wakes me up, but I can't 100% guarentee that I will make it. :(
