Most news reporters and major news stations are saying he's dead, but some are still saying that he's in a coma.

He was in a coma, just before he died.
Now Ed McMahon, Fara Faucet, and Michael Jackson have died within 24 hours.
Sad~

I find it a bit annoying everyones all OMG HE DIED!!!! like death never happens.
Yeah, I'm a bit sad. But I'm a bit annoyed that it's BIG HUGE NEWS. Media needs to consider the Jacksons watch the news and I don't think they wanna see his death being announced every 2 seconds.
r.i.p michael jackson <3

what do you expect when someone as big as him passes?
Louise, do you want them to just ignore the fact he died? Thats the mediums, theyre going to talk about that for weeks! If the family dont want to hear about it, they just have to close their TV :P
Anyway, it really sucks :(

No, I don't want them to ignore it.
I just don't like the fact its being blown everywhere. (I mean it as, OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG HES DEAD being said over and over. Nobody cares that Fara died? :[)
I didn't mean for it to take offense if it did. Personally I'm a huge fan of MJ myself.
@above
i agree with you partiallyy
mj's death totally blocked out farrah's death, which i thought was equally as sad too :(

I can't really get myself to care. I may sound like a coldhearted asshole, but he has never had an impact on my life, and I've only heard bad stuff abut him, though I'm sure there is good stuff.
Yes, a legendary celebrity dies, and it will leave the whole world knowing, but dying is natural. I just can't see how a dead celebrity is different from a soldier who got killed in war.

LOL, but yeah I found out about it yesterday too, I was more amused by Shaq getting traded to the Cavs though.

it always disgusts me when people discuss death like this as it never fails that some of them will joke & laugh about it. every death is a tragedy, big or small.

Deaths happen every day, why should I care if someone famous suddenly dies? I never really liked MJ or knew much about him, but I'm still a little upset with everyone else.

it doesn't matter if the person is famous or not, death is tragic regardless. and just because it happens every day does not make it any less so.
"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."

it's tragic but i don't think it should be.. when i die i want people to laugh and make jokes, not at me, but at the situation and my lifetime, so they can remember and be happy about it and not let it get them down..

So true. It's better to have them talk positive stuff about one. You have to give them a reason to smile when they look back at you.

you mean at youre death! Personnaly, yes i think itd be better if people would be happy and whatever, would make a party but thats not how it works! I doubt anyone who would lose someone he loves wants to make a big party and tell jokes or whatever, try it when someone in your family dies and tell me if you made so much fun!
You want to remember the good thing that the person has done in his life, not the fun you made when he died!

True true, nice quote btw, but it was too long for me to understand.

K, my thoughts.
Michael Jackson is dead. Ok, we can lament his death. But not to the extent it's being overly manipulated. With THOUSANDS (literally) of biographical and memorial programs on TV or the internet.
Seriously, this whole Michael Jackson is dead thing is getting annoying. Fast. >_>
