Video Editing Program :l

Hmmm well
I've recorded alot of stuff while playing maple with fraps before...
But they're all 'raw'. And I don't like how they look.
So I wanted to compile the videos/cut some scenes out/add caption and stuff.
But I don't know how or which programs to use :l
Can anyone recommend a simple video editting software
That is possibly free :)?
