I don't know if it's just me, but I'm finding phantoms extremely boring. I'm level 32 and I have no money and because of the low def, I keep dying. On top of that, I can't deal any damage...
So I want to start a new character, and I need some suggestions on which job I should go for. I plan on going for a dark knight, but I'm not sure yet. Thanks
If you keep going with your phantom you can always give up attack buffs for defense buffs. i.e.) Iron Body, Power Guard/HB, Willow spirit. etcetc.
As for money and damage, it's a gradual process.
Most people don't start out with billions. And in my honest opinion damage generally sucks for all classes before 4th job. It's hard to saya class's damage output "sucks" at level 32.
And as a player who's been playing warriors since like when ludi first came out, it's pretty boring until fourth job.
If you feel like a phantom is slow for you, warriors will only be worse.
Considering that you need to use level 1 ground smash til 70, and warrior mobility sucks compared to a phantom's.. :l
(Although it's much better than pre-BB where I spammed slash blust til 120)
I guess what I'm trying to say is just enjoy the game, play a class you like regardless of damage? xd

i have to agree 2nd job was pretty painful
but its really worth the boredom
i love it because i feel like im carrying a bunch of jobs in one, change my style of playing whenever i want to etc
damagewise its not all that bad after 3rd job
pretty easy to get to 4th job as well

Er, if you're planning to make over your chars, then I suggest Evan to be a top-choice :)

Well most jobs suck at 2nd and in my opinion phantom is quite an interesting class since I can change play style anytime and don't even look at defense and damages. My phantom used lvl 0 overall, cape, shoe untill lvl126 and my damage sucks more than a lvl11x phantom. Most important is to have fun and try not to find a job for damage unless your godly funded. The fun only starts at lvl120 :wdyjs:

Evan is fun at 2nd job, every single job. Until 190. When training is shet hard :<

Why does everyone say 2nd job Phantom sucked? I didn't have a problem with it...

2nd job phantom is boring to a fault, but the other advances are fine.

^This.
Make Evan if you want a fun class with decent damage at low funding. After you pass 8th growth and max Dragon Fury (35% + magic attack, passive) your range goes up by tons. In fact, it raises my range by 10k. Evans are not bad. I find them fun.
The downside, however, is the cost you'll have to face with skill books and mastery books. Since Evans max EVERY skill they get (unless you didn't do the Job Quest), it's kind of hard to scrape up all the books with low funding (I expect around 100m for all books.). Also, if you want riding (Mir) you need another 100m.
Good luck choosing your new character / continuing your Phantom.

Er June, you got it wayyyyy too wrong.
FM machine says:
- Advanced Mastery SKILL Book : 45m
- Flame Wheel SKILL book : 45m
- Soul Stone SKILL book : 42m
- Dark Fog SKILL book : 45m
They do not fail you at all.
The fun part actually lies in getting the money for 20/30 mastery books:
- Advanced Mastery 20 : 20~40m
- Advanced Mastery 30 : 20~40m
- Flame Wheel 20 : 10~30m
- Flame Wheel 30 : 10~30m
- Illusion 20 : 8~25m
- Illusion 30 : 5~30m
- Dark Fog 20 : 5m
- Dark Fog 30 : 5m
- Blaze 20 : 1~10m
- Blaze 30 : 1~10m
- Soul Stone 20 : 1~15m
- Soul Stone 30 : 1~15m
- Maple Warrior 20 : 120m~170m
- Maple Warrior 30 : 150~230m
All 20's are 70%, 30's 50%. You can fail them. So, it costs at least some 300m to max all the skills WITH LUCK.
Ehh I tried to make Evans sound positive, thanks for ruining >:l
Just kidding :xd:
But seriously, I said 100m considering he will do Zakum runs for Skill Books (saves alot of money :) ) and since I don't have Soul Stone or Dark Fog, that saved my money up too (not really necessary skills but I would like to get them some day.) Maple Warrior books; well, most people don't have money for it so it's normal for one to have 10 MW, no higher than that.
Well I guess it takes time to hunt the books down and get money for them but honestly you earn money like nothing these days especially when you go over 10th growth and start killing Official Knights A & B.
Tip for moneymaking: Balrog!!! It drops Bain equips and ** Chaos Scroll. ** I did full Balrog run(7 times a day max) for a week and I got 1 Bain Claw and 2 Chaos. Not bad for no effort on my part. If you want to do Balrog with me (it takes me 4:30 solo) just hit me up with a whisper. My IGN is Eavann.

June *ruining again* Zak drops are heavily nerfed now :< I RAN FOR 5 DAYS CONSECUTIVELY AND NO SB's :<
LOL Vort.
Well that sucks. :afraid: (I didn't do a lot of Zak since it got patched but no single SB dropped for me either) It depends on luck though, maybe we're just not lucky haha :xd:

y are those books expensive? when i was running around fm on June's character those books were worthless besides illusion and flame wheel which costed 10 mill each. (not including maple warrior)
