Are you looking to learn the language or only to read/write?

Reading the language is relatively easy. But understanding and translating the korean is... complicated. It takes a lot of hard work. If you still want to learn it, you should look for a tutor or something.

What SIC said. I'm trying to learn understanding/translating/holding conversations with online courses, but they fail, none of them explains things properly, every course lacks vocabulary, etc.

Get a tutor, or join a local korean class.

Then you should use this site: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/korean.htm

TJ already used it to learn reading and writing korean, and I did as well. It explains great and it's easy to understand.

The question should be. Where cant you learn Korean?

As for books. Elementary Korean or the College Korean series are good (Its a complete set with textbooks and junk, and it costs like 20 bucks a book lol)

Sites: learn-korean.net, learnkorean.com, Sogang University has some korean lessons too.

But all you really gotta do is join some penpal site like penpalwel or interpals and say youre learning Korean and you'll pretty much have alot of people teaching you lol. (That's how I'm learning) Friends is prolly the best way to learn though.

Hope I helped a little bit.

There is a site I used, very helpful if you want to learn the basic alphabet
Just go through it a couple of times, I guarantee you wont remember it all after one cycle. xD
