I know this is kind of last minute, but I never got around to posting a thread about it earlier. EF, small site as it is, will be joining thousands of other websites tomorrow, the 18th, in the blackout to protest SOPA and PIPA. More info on these two bills -> http://fightforthefuture.org/pipa
Both of these bills are very real threats to the internet we all know and love. EF, among many, many other sites would be shut down if they were to pass. There has been talk of SOPA being shelved and people have been saying it's been beaten, but it has not. For now it's on hold, but it's expected to be taken back out next month.
SO!: Tomorrow, between 8 AM and 8 PM EST, EF will be down in protest of SOPA and PIPA.
I do realize there's a patch tomorrow. This takes precedence.
*tear* But glad we are taking place in protest.
What is this suppose to do? Why does SOPA care if a site is down? They want control, the more sites down the better

the goal is to spread awareness.

Well...Wow. This is actually the first time I got info on what SOPA and PIPA is. I've heard about it, but I never actually knew the extent of how bad it was. Hope it doesn't get passed.:anime:

"MPAA Directly & Publicly Threatens Politicians Who Aren't Corrupt Enough To Stay Bought"
""Those who count on quote 'Hollywood' for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who's going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don't ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don't pay any attention to me when my job is at stake," Says Dudd.
