Since it's a direct object, the article will change from der to den. When you use an adjective with a noun, you add an ending to it. For all der, die, das articles, you add an e. But since the noun is a direct object, and only der changes with direct object, you have to add en instead of just e. And NEVER forget to capitalize a noun.

Correct sentence: Ich will den roten Hund kaufen.
