You have to press the attack key twice/triple to use the skill, or you just have to press the skill as normal?

from your experiment, is this a good thing to spam crtl or a bad thing that may destroy your fingers?

It can cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome if you spam it incorrectly..

Oh my god that's just made my day.
No, although Aran is a Polearm-only warrior, you don't need a polearm to use his main attack skills :)
