JMS Shutting Down.

It was on the maplestory web page the other week that JMS is closing down March 31st 2010. There's several topics about it on the maplestory community pages on the official website.. but they seemed to have deleted the page.

So what are your thoughts?

That's a farse. With the amount of revenue Nexon/Wizet are getting, they're not going to shut down any version of MapleStory for a VERY long time. If anything, they'd merge it with another server, like HKMS and TMS.

Most likely, that message was written by one of those stupid hackers who are infesting the game. :X

That's not what I meant.


What I mean is, some people are making up stupid things to try to get more and more people to stop playing MapleStory. This kind of thing has happened before, so it's not really a surprise. lol


Also, if Nexon JP made that announcement, they wouldn't have removed it, they wouldn't continue patching JMS, and they'd be in constant contact to get more people to stop playing before the date arrives.


None of my JP friends know about this, either, so it's an obvious false notice.

Well, I guess you'll just have to read the community pages in the official JMS website to believe me. It's been talked about quite often.

Definitely fake imho. JMS has millions of active players, shutting it down would be a fatal mistake for Nexon. In fact, that would probably take a huge chunk out of its total revenues.
Now what I would expect in due time is Nexon overall announces "We are out of new ideas, please bear with us while we think" or "There will not be any new content released for some time".
I say that because Nexon's starting to lose innovation. Nothing seems to be the 'good' kind of new since Arans. Post-Arans, it's been all about PQs, which not many people go to anyways :/ I'm just waiting for the time when they just say "sorry, no more, please wait"

Interesting...The notice says that there is one in Nexon's main website.
But in both websites there isn't a single word about this.

It's obvious it's fake. jMS is the second MS version in the world, and I doubt they'd shut down for no reason.
