THE TECHNICAL HELP FAQ

Good job clicking this topic. It will hopefully cover every error you could be having during registration, and everything afterwards until you have your character in the game. If anything is missing, don't hesitate to mention it!

Registration Errors

Error message: 보호사 이메일과 다른 이메일을 입력하세요.
Answer: Your guardian's email can't be the same as your email.

Error message: 실명인증에 실패 했습니다.
Answer: Your KSSN / name is not valid.

Error message: 주민등록번호가 유효하지 않습니다.
Answer: Your KSSN is not valid.

Error message: 비밀번호 열쇠질문을 선택하세요.
Answer: Select an option on the Secret Question drop down box. You can't use the first option.

Error message: 사용하실 아이디를 입력해 주세요.
Answer: Make sure the ID you want to use is available. If it's available, there will be blue text next to it. If not, there will be orange text.

Error message: 비일번호와 비밀번호 확인의 값이 다릅니다.
Answer: Your password and confirm password values are different.

Error message: 우리나라의 성씨를 입력해 주세요.
Answer: The last name you entered is not Korean. Use a Korean name.

Error message: 비밀번호 : 영문자와 숫자가 포함되어야 합니다.
Answer: Your password needs to include at least 1 number.

Error message: 전화번호 형식이 잘못되었습니다.
Answer: Use a 10 digit telephone number.


Other registration problems
If you get sent to a "Member Login" page after inputting your name and KSSN, it means the KSSN already has an account assigned to it.


Game launching problems

Error message: MyKeyDefense: 초기화 오류
Answer MyKeyDefense has trouble with initializing. Try another attempt, if this does not work, open your internet browser, clear your cache and temp. cookies and visit the MapleStory website and run MyKeyDefense again.

If you get a message saying something like the game can "only be executed in Korean code-page", follow the steps here: http://ellinforest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46

If you get an error with a yes/no option, you're either IP banned or the game is going through a patch or server check. If there's no patch or server check going on, download HotSpot Shield here: http://www.anchorfree.com/downloads/hotspot-shield/ and keep disconnecting and reconnecting until you get an IP that looks like one of these: 10.9.*.*, 10.8.*.*, 10.111.*.*


HackShield Errors
The list of HackShield will be compiled soon, thanks to jak0999 for pointing this out.

This list was copied from Adventures in jMS (http://www.adventuresinjms.com) who copied it from a MapleSEA forum.

Error 100 - Computer is infected with virus. Please update the anti-virus to the latest and scan the PC. If the error code 100 persists to appear even after scanning, it might be an undetectable virus.

Error 110 - This is indicating that NProtect has already been loaded once and is still resident in memory. Close GameMon out from the task manager and try again.

Error 112 - Not enough sufficient memory avaiable to check for viruses and hacking tools.

Error 114 - Indicates that some software on your PC is preventing NProtect from loading. Please verify that you have administrative access to the PC you are using, and that you have shut down all nonessential software.

Error 115 - Current game has been excuted more than once and/or Gameguard is already currently running. Close out the game and try again.

Error 120 - Your installation of NProtect is either incomplete or damaged. Please delete the GameGuard folder and repatch Maple Story.

Error 124 - Same as Error 120

Error 141 - Same as Error 120

Error 142 - Same as Error 120

Error 150 - Same as Error 120

Error 153 - Same as Error 120

Error 155 - A Windows system file is damaged. Reinstall the rsabass.dll in the system folder.

Error 170 - Due to a problem with the GameGuard INI, the program was unable to launch. We recommend deleting the GameGuard folder and re-running the MapleStory patch program again in order to redownload the NProtect files.

Error 200 - An illegal program detected. Close all unused programs and try again.

Error 340 - This is indicating that the NProtect patches failed to download, either due to an overly restrictive firewall. We recommend checking your firewall settings as well as your current connection stability, and trying again at a later time.

Error 350 - The NProtect patcher was cancelled. Close and reload Maple Story.

Error 360 - The NProtect patch process failed due to corrupted files, or an overly restrictive firewall. Please be sure to allow NProtect access through your firewall. If the problem persists, delete the Gameguard directory and run the Maple Story patcher again.

Error 361 - Gameguard did not install correctly. Re-download Gameguard. The latest Gameguard folder can be found here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/h7igom

Error 380 - There is either a problem with your internet connection or security software is blocking NProtect from accessing it's patch server. Or the patch server is currently down.



Character creation problems

If you're prompted to enter a number, input the last 7 digits of your KSSN.

If the last 7 digits of the KSSN don't work, I'm assuming you got your account from a friend. Ask the friend what the PIN number on the account is and input that instead.

I'm pretty sure mykeydefence is installed when you try to login to the maplestory website.

I just started the client and came to the website.
Then i loogen me in on the left side, and klicked the button with the little '->'
Because i thought its to log in.

You're right. GameGuard is gone, the list of HackShield errors will be compiled soon.

Open KMS with checkboxes enabled like that:

It should automatically install and open MyKeyDefense. Later, when you press start game, it should work.

Nope.. There is no way to use the website in a 64 bit environment. I sooo hope you have a dual boot into a 32 bit system.

Or alternatively, try using XP Mode (which I actually haven't tried yet.).

actually i found it out... but for some reason i lost my kssn T_T any way to retrieve? i wrote it down and everything, but i cant seem to find it. i just need it to make a char i believe

You need your KSSN if you want to play KMS conveniently.

I would write it down on a piece of paper AND save a document containing all of your information.

And yes, you would have to make a new account.

It could be updating if you have a slower connection

Upon registering an i-Pin, I get this error.

or something along those lines. (X being a character I cannot write?)

No idea what it means, but if you solve it you should probably add it.

kMS just won't launch. I tried the client, and if i got to task manager, I see maple pop up but it disappears about after a second, same thing happens when i try to launch from the website. MY ANTIVIRUS IS DISABLED AND AHNLAB IS ON.

EDIT: I HAVE A WIN7 64-bit PC.

it can, what I did was set both gamelauncher.exe and maplestory.exe to run under windows vista sp3 compatibility and run as an administrator. then you click gamelauncher.exe and click the right button. tada.

Nope, my win7 ultimate 64bit doesn't have vista sp3 in compatibility list ( so I set to sp2). After I launch Ahnlab, and click the right option in gamelauncher, it just has the loading sign for a while and stops.

You might wanna add an error to the start page, turn off Data Execution Prevention in win7 ultimate 64bit for gamelauncher,maplestory and patcher.exe

Control Panel>System and Security>System>Change Settings>Advanced>Performance Settings>Data Execution Prevention>Add the 3 programs i mentioned above

EDIT: I also found out that you only need to do ^^^^ if you have ticked the second box.

eg. ePSXe (ps1 emulator) requires dep off for that program, so once i done that, everything else would require that, simple solution. Tick first box or use this ^^^^^.

I actually have this problem right now as well... and i think it has something to do with the "키보드 보안". Did you to check to make sure that it was clicked and installed properly on your computer? [I'm about to restart mine to see if it works now...]

I've checked, unchecked, refreshed, restarted, reinstalled, and redownloaded everything in every possible sequence. Nothing works :stress:

Edit: Oddly enough, I can Copy/paste my info into the game login screen and it'll work, same with storage.

The only real thing I can think of is bootcamp is glitchy, since I'm playing on a macbook pro, but then shouldn't it also be glitchy for the several other maplestory versions I play(ed)?

Well, my boyfriend plays GMS and KMS on a MacBook Pro with Bootcamp on Windows 7, and he's never had any problems playing either of them, so it shouldn't be Bootcamp.

Yea, just keep trying and eventually youll get through. If not try launching through the website.
