If you've never played a version of MapleStory outside of your region, you'll probably be quite puzzled when you find that annoying little error message saying "This client can only be executed in Korean code-page." Good thing EllinForest.com is here to help!

Windows Vista

Open up your control panel and browse to Clock, Language, and Region, then Regional and Language Options.
Click the Administrative tab.
Choose Korea from the list.

Windows XP

Open up your control panel and browse to Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options, then Regional and Language Options.
Click the Advanced tab, and look for "Korean" in the drop-down box under Language for non-Unicode programs. If it's listed, select it and press OK. If it's not, continue with the following steps.
Click the Languages tab.
Tick the box labeled Install East Asia Languages.
When prompted, enter your Windows XP CD-ROM into the disc drive, or download the language pack HERE (http://www.sendspace.com/file/1lo6zq). Extract the files and browse to the extracted folder when prompted.
Once the East Asia Languages are installed, go back to the Regional and Language Options.
Click the Advanced tab, and look for "Korean" in the drop-down box under Language for non-Unicode programs. Select it and press OK.

For step 5, you need to select Korea, than apply & okay. Than RESET your computer. It will prompt you too anyhow, so just do it. :]

~Thanks Slyslinger

Hazzy

Korean Code Page is a name, doesn't change the language. (Unless that program uses code page to display the default language)
Some programs won't work, I think. Sony Vegas didn't load last time I tried. FF, IE, Global MS, Mabi, and more all work fine.

Whoa so I can install the Korean Language pack with this? Thanks! my computer doesn't have Korean for some reason on the drop down xD :inlove:

Man I can't really use this , since the Korean (Coreano in my computer) doesn't appear on the drop down on the uni-code section. I tried looking for LANGKOR.exe and either the links have expired or they just don't have it lol ><

First post.
I read the whole post. :phew:

Like I said, it doesn't let me change to korean it. I have a lite version of XP ( yes pirated ) so i couldn't do change even after "installing", I downloaded another OS and now it's working. The thing now is that I have very unstable internet and it's alot to patch ;-; Oh well that's another story. :vomit:

I hate it when people say stuff like that"FIRST POST" sounds like trolling, but meh people who don't read the post are more annoying :hehe:

EDIT: lol wat I didn't say that on this post...I posted it on another forum where I downloaded another OS lul , my bad.

1) Open Control Panel
2) Region and Language
3) Administrative Tab
4) Change System Locale
4) Choose Korean from the list

can you please help me for a second I want to change my korean code page back to default but it sais i need some disk or compact thing. Is there a place where i can download English language(Canada).

Reason why im askin is because im trying to re-make my hotmail so i can get my account back but since its in korean code it goes to hotmail.co.uk and i need it at hotmail.com. IM guessing that the reason for this is because my comp is on a korean code page, but if theres a different reason and/or another way to fix this problem please can you tell me, its really important.

I'm pretty sure that this wouldn't make that happen. Websites like hotmail generally redirect to different versions based on something completely different.

Alright. So I downgraded to windows XP desktop because I broke my other computer.
Like usual, I have to install the language pack. I've done it before, but with a C-D. Now I don't have it. So here's the problem.
I follow the steps, downloaded it i368 (or whatever) thing it was, go into browse, but my file DOES NOT appear in my documents where I saved it too. And I know how you can usually change the file types too look for to ALL file types, but that's grey'd out and doesn't allow me to access it.

..So I'm wondering what is going on cause, it'll be kinda lame if i can't play anymore.
If I missed something and this has been resolved just let me know :\ Thanks.

There is actually another way to run KMS in korean code-page. It was initially in Windows XP called AppLocale. This program can now be downloaded off the net and installed on Windows 7 (i am using it..) and allows for you to run programs in selected languages.

For people with Windows 7, reboot your computer after applying the changes.

For people that wonder if their programs Will work slower - they won't. No worries.

What do you mean by installed on Win7? Do you mean it's already installed by default and you can use it without a download? If so, how do you use it on windows 7, Start>>Search>>Run cannot find AppLocale.

You will have to download it. This program used to be included in Windows XP but they removed it on Vista and 7 so you will have to download the program off the net and install it. Look it up here for more info about the program if you need: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppLocale

Hey, I have a problem with this, when I try to change my language to Korean it gives me this error, "The setup was unable to install the chosen locale. Please contact your system Administrator."

What do I do? Thanks for any help :)

I've been getting the same error when I try choosing Korean from the drop-down list. I've done everything the TS wrote, readed through all posts, and google how to solve this problem (which all redirected to downloads of the Korean language, but for Office [I installed them but still won't work]). Can somebody help? I'm running out of options.

Everything before this step is alright.

an alternative is to download AppLocale.
it gives you the opportunity to choose a set language for the program you wish to run, like Maplestory. :)

Complete the following steps:

Control Panel > International and Regional settings
Look for an option to add a package of languages(asian language pack) or a specific language(in this case, korean) to your computer, in order to support the code-page.

I don't know which system you're using.

By the looks of it, it could be anything from a modded XP to Windows 7 without ClearType font.

That still wont work. I can't choose Korean (but it's there) from the drop-down list.

I'm using Windows XP:

Sometimes Korean isn't on the Unicode List so you have to add it.
That i386 file doesn't work for that so here's one with everything! (It's 422 MB)

You need more space on your harddrive; space needed 3.75gb, space left 1.46gb.
