View Full Version : How do Different Classes Handle?

I'm thinking about switch classes... again, and have it narrowed down to Archers, Infighters, and a Flame Wizard(yey free wAtk).
I'm considering make a traditional Infighter or Bowman because of their low weapon attack, while making a Cygnus Infighter, Archer, or Flame Wizard.
To help with this, I want to know how each of the five classes handles/works, for the most time. D:

I have a traditional Infighter in gMS, but it's Dexless. Are Strikers very different than normal Infighters in 2nd job?
How about Archers/Breakers?

How do Flame Wizards work...? xD Are they like an I/L, or a totally weird, new mage?

Strikers have similar mechanics as infighters, except they aren't based in combination attacking as much. That and the addition of the lightning element, some skill modifications, etc. They train a lot like infighters throughout 2nd job, and in 3rd it seems they just spam sharks until they can unlock fists. From there, idk.

Windbreakers spam the knockback skill throughout 2nd job to level very quickly. In 3rd, it seems the fastest exp is probably going to newties like any other ranged class imo. There's also wind walk and transform for more damage/skills.

Flame wizards are stronger than I/L mages and somewhat faster due to having booster in 2nd job. They're probably the easiest to level without a main of decent level for the attack bonus (at least through 2nd). I've only seen one 3rd job flame wizard training, but it didn't seem anymore difficult.

I'd probably go with a flame wizard for the cygnus if the main is a bowman (+matk from the blessing isn't extremely important, and +atk for the bowman will help considerably) and a windbreaker if the main is an infighter (+atk from blessing makes a big difference for both classes) if the choice was based purely on statistics. s:

How do Hunters work? xO

Do Flame Wizards handle/use skills in a similar fashion, just on steroids?

Why Flame for a Bowman, but Raider for an Infighter?

Hunters... hm, it depends on where you train. For a 1v1 situation, double shot is the standard until strafe, and with a group of enemies arrow bomb is used. In 3rd, those get somewhat replaced by strafe and arrow rain, but arrow bomb can still be used for its stun.

You could compare a flame wizard's playing style through 2nd job to that of a lightning wizard, yeah. Teleporting around using fire pillar much like an I/L with thunderbolt, except it's stronger and fire based. 3rd is kind of different because of fire curtain, and they get certain things earlier than a regular mage would.

A flame wizard levels quickly and easily, providing a higher leveled blessing for the main character more quickly. Infighters and windraiders are both fairly quick levelers, while the infighter doesn't need the blessing to be powerful and the windraider's exp/hour can be upped considerably with it.

Imo all the cygnus level very quickly and easily, but what's easy for me might not be easy for others. I would pick based on the playing styles you're most fond of, or if you only like one class, base the other one on what the one you like will benefit the most from. :/

I made an archer earlier today, and I think I'll go with an Infighter as a Cygnus because, knowing me, I'll bore of it by 40-50. xD
The way I understand, a FW will just skyrocket through 2nd and 3rd job? Shame you only get one Cygnus per character. D:

Thanks for the help. :D
