Seems doubtful it is connected to Nexon's own site, but anything's possible.

It makes it easy for the hackers if people haven't changed their password since the login server upgrade.

And this isn't just people with short passwords or easy to guess ones. This includes people who do take security precautions with their account and they still got hacked.
And Nexon would do no such thing. If they did that, that would mean admitting they had a problem in the first place. Which means Nexon would have to compensate those who lost everything.

So has there been any confirmation of people with locked items losing them? Because if they're locked and they still lose it that could possibly mean it was intentional. But i doubt nexon would seriously be dumb enough to expose something that could only be done within the workplace.

Come to think of it, I also wouldn't be surprised if the people hacking all of these accounts was someone in the meso selling business.

It's not. When at least 100 people are hacked and lose all their items (some of those who take extra precautions to protect themselves, some being level 200s) it ain't fake.

Hime has not denied past security problems, but she ensured security is good now. But that could be people twisting her words.

Also my belief is that there has been some sort of mysterious hacking lately. But it hasn't been Nexons fault. There are lots of Higher levels on Basil Market that download these PrePatchers and they get it directly from a guy named PuppyKevin on Basil. But you can easily do it yourself all you need to do is change the download link from download/v81 to download/v82 on the day of the patch. So why bother to go to all this effort? to put a key logger in it. Hes built up such a reputation that no one would believe anyone who said he put a Key logger in it. Think of it this way its like saying on Spadows Blog..." Spadow hacked me.. Do somthing about it internet." It just wouldn't fly.

Also all of the people below level 100 that got hacked most LIKELY gave there info away and said oh nexon hacked me cause they didnt wanna get called a noob for giving there info away and then they could use that excuse to ask for money on Basil. I see it ALLLLL the time.

First one highly doubt it. People still scan files like that even if it's from a trusted member, someone would raise hell. Even if one person called it, more would be suspicious and scan it and then raise more hell.

Second, yeah some begger assholes will do that. But not all.

i dont think puppy has a keylogger, because if it would modify the data, the next time a patch would come up, and you used a nexon patcher then when it is verifying the WZs and the maplestory.exe, it would find CRC errors, or something of some sort, so i don't think they have any keyloggers.

See the problem with that is that it doesnt actually patch. It just reinstalls the WHOLE thing over again.

I got hacked too. I NEVER shared my account with anyone. Someday I just tried to log in and....couldnt. Screw NEXON , wasted 35$ for NOTHING. Jeez , NEXON America has the shittiest security system EVER.

I don't see that happening, some people make similar sites look close to nexon's and when people "purchase NX," they will be asked to give their ID / Pass or more information and its usually easy to tell if the websites are fake, such as an In game smega trying to advertise FREE nx or something.

Anyways its true that shit has hit the fan! and alot of my friends over here in cali have lost there acc's or gotten hacked :stress: I'm lukii atm (*Knocks on wood*) but kms aint working for me...when i click game launcher nothing happens and it WAS working fine before it DC'ed me than i tried login in 2hrs later nothing. nyways :bye:
