Yesterday at 3:30 am, i was driving my own car with my friends, coming back to home(was in a bar that is at around 45min of my home) I had 15min left to do until I was home, then my car went crazy and stopped! Nothing works I tried everything, i had to call my dad and he called a .. *pick-up that brings cars to garage? (translator gives me "tow")* Whatever, it cost me 120$ because the guy had to do around 30min of driving before arriving to me and another 30min so -120$! So today, we went to see what was up with it and the engine had something fuucked up! My car was only worth 1500$ and it would cost around 700$ for the reparation! So it was definitly not worth it since its a 1993 and its getting old! So because of the fucking cold of this winter I just lost 1500+120=1620 yesterday! Yeah! x_x

P.S.: It was -34 fahrenheit or -37 celcius!

I've seen way worse than that, in middle february, it's always around -40/-43 and when you add wind to that it gets to -50/-55! Good point with that, our bus doesn't work because it's tooooo cold so we have no school!

When I went snowboarding I was crying at -2F. Here the lowest it gets is like 40F in the day or night.

lol what, it is possible, and it happens a lot, just a little proof that it has been even lower, i've look lower temperature in quebec or stuff like that and i found this

"Selon les statistiques, en excluant les régions les plus septentrionales de l’Ungava et de la Baie James, la plus basse température historique enregistrée au Québec a été de -54,4 degrés Celsius. Ça se passait le 5 février 1923 à Doucet au nord du Lac Saint-Jean. "

Actually it means that the lowest one was -54,4 celcius degrees on the 5 february 1923 at the north of Lac Saint-Jean, which is where I live! So it is possible :p

Anyway, I love winter and low temperature, I just HATEEEEEEEEEE when stuff like that happened! I could have used that 1600$ somewhere else D:

You guys are such pansies. Canadians build up an immunity to the weather sooner or later.

My driving instructor, who is from edmonton Alberta and just recently moved to toronto, said that in the winter it was usually -60C with the wind chill where she used to live.

^ Why don't you look it up?

Michigan doesn't get that cold, even with the wind chill, but it's still freezing here :<

It actually hasn't been a bad year though. Sorry to hear that Jess :/

Edmonton is right in the middle of Canada, its not far in the artic but Canada is pretty cold I don't really understand why it's colder than european countries but whatever! Edmonton is in the middle of Canada and like someone said, it's mostly a town in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of plains so it's pretty cold there! But -60 is too much even with wind, it must be around -50 max and not always! People likes to exagerate
