After a recent outburst I have had which involved upsetting alot of people and an argument with my family, my mother has decided several "changes" to how I should now live in the house.

If I am to go on the laptop, I should do it downstairs with the family in the loungeroom (even if "the family" at the time is my mother being lonely watching TV by HERSELF) so I might not be able to skype very often now.

After school I am to revise when I get in until I have my dinner, after my dinner I am free to do whatever, but still, this is about 8-10 more hours of revision a week MORE than I have ever done.

My parents want me in general just to spend less time on my laptop/xbox/psp.

My parents want me to go out more (WHICH IS FRICKEN DIFFICULT WHEN MY FRIENDS WHERE I LIVE DONT GO OUT MUCH - the only friends that can go out are ones that dont live within a walkable distance, and my family has not got a car - we get everywhere we need to by walking, which is ok, I dont mind, its just hard to get to certain places unless I get a bus or taxi)

Oh and my parents want me to spend less time learning guitar and more time studying.

So this results in me gaming less, speaking to friends on skype less and playing less music.

The only upside is IF I AM LUCKY I will see my friends more often, and also I will hopefully (if my unfortunately terrible memory allows it) get better at my subjects at school, thus I will get into the university which I have a conditional on - OPINIONS?

Sounds like a good idea? Your parents not taking away your gaming or music privileges at all; they just want you to focus more on studying. I would listen to your parents 'cause it's gonna be harder to make these decisions on your own later if you've never done anything like this before.

Not even my thread, Terry.
And I disagree.

Ok guys, knock this shit off before it gets worse.

And your parents are doing you a favour, sure it seems bad to you now because they're taking away a bit of your privileges (or not, since they're just encouraging you to study more) but in the end you'll be happier for it.

Unless you feel like me and want to party everyday then OD on drugs at 30. Then tell them to fuck off and move out, get a low paying job, rent forever, and start smoking weed. You'll be remembered as a failure but it's the fast track off this long journey known as life.
