Cool feature, the WEBSITE for the game blorp. (http://maplestory.nexon.com/MapleStory/Page/Gnx.aspx?URL=mapleDS/intro) has it's own neat little rankings system, well, not rankings per say, but a confirmation page, which you activate through a coupon with the booklet. but they say you can get it in game, but whatever. it seems that once you activate your coupon, you can enter more coupons (One I accidentally skipped through with the start of my bowman, but I got something something medal out of it, maybe some sort of medal for the game?) and I presume once you do that (Since you have to log in via your maplestory ID to access any of this) you get the items placed in your cash shop storage, so far i've gotten jack crap, but that's because i'm still in henesys, raepin spores. anyone else try dnf DS?

I haven't seen anything of it, not even a data page on any gaming websites I know of.

Edit: apparently you can share rewards with another account. "Maple Story DS's personal data can be generated up to 2 because, among friends, good brothers sharing one per part." Tee hee, google.

I just took a look at Spadow's vid. Let's just say I'm not that impressed.

First off, ad made me laugh at how bad it was. If it was trying to make a serious tone, it failed badly. You really can't get serious with a game like Maplestory and its cartoony 3D models.

Secondly, game looks very boring. It looks like they tried to make a Metroidvania but forgot all the action. The charge up time for the skills and that teleport scene with the zombie made me cringe. You go and look at Cave Story, a game which practically sets the standards for these types of games, and you'll see that the action is a lot more intense than this game where the monsters move at 1 pixel per second.

Also lolwat'd at horntail in ludi and the wagon scene. Graphics also look a step DOWN from the actual Maplestory.

Probably not even worth pirating.

if you create a save file on no$ or no&zoomer, then convert it to the flashcart you're using, it will work. but it freezes so often its not worth it. best to play it on the computer, or wait until an antipiracy patch is out.

I don't know what to do after you get knocked off the cliff. I went to Kerning, Henesys and Ellinia and I don't see anything to do anywhere. When I go to Ellinia, I can't take a boat, the NPCs don't do anything and the fairy in the bottom left doesn't let me leave the town. The only way to leave was via the taxi.

Anyone know what to do?

You have to go to the right of Perion, trick your way past the guards, and go talk to the excavation people on the top right of the mini-town of Perion. They'll ask you to put jewels in totem poles and find this other. You go to the left and put the right jewels in the right totems. Then you go one map right of Perion and then down and press up on the weird looking totem pole.

All I know is that there is a temple with Golden Mushmom Statues on each platform and there are like x9 person that's next to Sabritama in real maple. Also when I try to get in the portal of the temple I can't because the guard says something to me and when I think to one of those 9, I get kicked out. Halp? Everyone inside except the guard kicks me out.
I tried to talking everyone inside Sleepywoods before I went to the Temple and outside the temple there is only one guard.

Finally... One of the 9 had a different response after I talk to the outside guard another time.

I said I brought her back as in just found her and just fought Manon. I saw a guy going somewhere but I couldn't find him and don't know what to do.

When I try to use the seed, my char says something. Does the archer girl have to be in my party or something? Because if she does, What do I do since she just stands next to the egg.

You have to go to the bottom of the tower, go into the red portal then you will be in a place similar to the blue one before fighting the Rog. There will be another red Portal which will take you to Kerning Subway, get out and go see Rina in the bar.

You have to talk to everyone (At least I did that) Including the Taxi, Then you go back into the bar, Then you talk to the guy outside of the subway, then you keep going down the subway.

There's a set of earmuffs in your inventory. If you don't equip them, the guy will kill you in one hit.

As far as I know (I don't have the original cartridge, but lol), there is no graphic lag problem at all. According to Dennis (TKWizard), there is no lag at all. I believe he's using a Flash Cart to play with the ROM on a real DS, so that would give the same result as playing with the original game cartridge. I believe the lag problem is all in the emulators. I've switched between a couple of emulators and some lag worse than the other, so I think it's all about how the emulator was developed, rather than the ability of the system to load it.

Emulators usually have a lower frame-rate (especially no$gba).

Unless you have a really awful flash cart or a crummy microSD, games don't lag when you're playing them on a flash cart + real DS. The cart's firmware does affect it, but I've never seen one so bad that it lagged games.

MaplestoryDS lags minisculey sometimes, the game slows down for a second or two, doesn't freeze. of course, it could just be my flashcart, but eh.

I forget to mention that I tried it on my DSi system.

Gameplay is very fluid and good. But especially on very populated areas I have noticed a very minor slowdown on my AceKard2i(+4 GB Kingston). Several other cart users also confirmed the same situation (But all of us might be suffering a cart problem)

It is very minor and rarely noticeable especially in the heat of gameplay.

I like Maplestory and I would like to create a similar but lower budget game aimed for handheld systems and maybe other mobile platforms. I want to find the possible difficulties behind these slowdowns. There are several minor glitches on MapleStory Ds such as flickering items if they overlapped on same place (look at dropped bank rolls which is very visible)

They used so many transparency enabled sprites on same screen which move, scale and rotates at the same time. And the quality of those sprites are quite high... So this might be another reason. But still I would expect from a DS system to handle that easily.

I have a request from you.

At the end of the Fighter story, there are many flying ghost type enemies as well as some flying ships, etc. Please go back to that place (chose chapter) and jump on them and fight all of them at the same time. If there is a slowdown, then that place should have it. Please let me know if your game plays as fluid as usual without any single fps drop.

Then, I wont cancel my game order and continue on another DS system for further studies.

no, no. I wanted to halt my process since I couldn't find the source of the problem.
I will eventually need it to study. And I also love that game.

I expect them to make a v1.1 (similar to some other games) if there is an optimization problem. But, again that would be useful for me to have both 1.0 and 1.1 to compare them.

Noticed Rina was gone
Talked to those thief instructors and said she was in the subway
I take the elevators and end up at the bottom
I noticed the black pirate
Black Pirate runs to next portal
Black pirate jumps through the floor (where the bottom portal is)
Can't jump through floor
I go back up and talk to everyone/enter the bar and talk to everyone
Go back down subway through elevator
Floor path still there, can't get through.
