Alt + Shift > Alt + ` (Alt + shift toggles between languages and alt + ` toggles between input modes.)

OOOOOR

If you're typing on a document or whatever, you can just right click your task bar and toggle the visibility of the language bar and click it to manually change the input to Japanese and hiragana.

The Alt + Shift and Alt + ` option is so much easier, though.

Once you have that, all you have to do is type Japanese the way you would type the romaji. For instance, "Japanese" would be "nihongo" in romaji, so you type "ni" + "hon" + "go" on your keyboard to get にほんご. If you want to type in Kanji, you press shift while you still see the line under the hiragana (にほんご→日本語). If you want Katakana, press F7 after you type the hiragana and while the bar is still under the hiragana (にほんご→ニホンゴ).

Justin, I believe that you missed one thing out:
ONE BYTE KATAKANA (ish)
ニホンゴ ニュウリョク
Press F8 to make it happen.

Thank you
