View Full Version : How is 3rd job supposed to work?

I mean, we don't know what drops what anymore... So how is everyone supposed to get enough Dark Crystal Ores for the job advancement by level 70 on 1x EXP, Meso and Drop rates? :S

Damn it, I wish they thought about that. lol The only part I'm really worried about is getting enough ores to make the Crystal for the job advancement. Not to mention that if you fail, that's another 10 ores you need.

Worst case scenarios

1.Question changed
2.Dark Crystal prices are gonna soar in KMS

Hopefully,
1. Its not Dark Crystals anymore
2.Questions unchanged/removed

So maybe the entire advancement changed?

You can basically get a dark crystal from the quest "The One Who Walks Down the Road to Oblivion 5" (level 135 -_-), or from yeti.
You can get dark crystal ores from quests as a random reward except for that spider quest thing in which you get 3. For my 3rd job, I did that on like 4 characters XP. However, if you just think you are lucky enough to find them, hunt for them from:
Slimy, Mr. Anchor, Nightshadow, Dark Pepe, Master Soul Teddy, Dark Yeti, Buffoon, Dark Klock, Dark Yeti & Pepe, Malady, Dark Jr. Yeti, Dark Stone Golem, Elliza, Squid, Gigantic Spirit Viking, Green Cornian, Dark Cornian, Thanatos, Hankie, Jr. Boogie, Charmer, Sr. Bellflower Root, Pac Pinky, King Sage Cat, Luster Pixie, Paper Lantern Ghost, Drum Bunny, Iron Mutae, Deep Buffoon, Samiho, Lazy Buffy, Wraith, Kimera, Elderwraith, Dark Nependeath, Phantom Watch, Skelosaurus, Red Kentaurus, Overlord B, Robby, Iruvata, Vikerola, Roid, Dark Cloud Fox, Grizzly

Good luck, you are gonna need it.

The droplists for insoya are still before the KMST patch.

Considering monster books were removed, its going to take a while for insoya to upload the new droplist.

I am sorry if im bumping an old thread now, but it seems the problem was never solved. What you need to do, is copy the "item.wz" from the kms folder. Create a new folder, paste the "item.wz" there, then you extract it. :)
Hope this helps :)

I don't understand this... Why do you need to move the item.wz to other folder to extract it? And how is extracting helping on knowing what drops dark crystal. I thought monster's drops aren't in the client.

He meant that the item drops will go to their original monster but it doesn't work like that.
You'd have to replace mob.wz and that would fuck up the whole game.

Actually, that is not what i meant.
I made a mistake though, we do not need the item.wz, but the string.wz.
From the "wz-file" you can extract the info telling you which items(id) drop from what monsters(id). When you have ID's, you just cross-reference with sauna gibbed. :)

I'd stop talking about WZediting if I were you.

Extracting information from data.wz is neither editing, nor is it illegal...
So, "Tay", why would I stop talking about it?
Tons of populare MS-forums do this to find future content. With this they can do many things, for instance, figure out what will be released in the next patch and so forth.
I've just read up on a tutorial on how to do this. If anyone would upload the string.wz, I would be happy to "locate" a few items for 'ya :).

Actually there is some editing.
You edit the file to be able to open it and when you open it, you may edit something by accident.

Anyway, monster drops's database is really in the .wz files? I never heard about that. Are you sure?

It's not. Drop tables are ENTIRELY server-sided. It's information we'll never get our hands on unless Nexon themselves give it to us. The only way we were able to confirm some drops before was by extracting the monster book data, which we don't have anymore, so that's entirely not possible now.

Just make another character, do the level 36 quest, and hunt for ores. Sorry man, but that's the only way. Nexon didn't think ahead :stress:

Because that narrows it down.
Secondly, his question is already answered.

I am pretty sure we could use string.wz to find monster drops.
I found a tutorial. I'll try it on GMS's string.wz. If what I found corresponds to the monster drop on GMS, I have succeeded. If not, your statement about monster drops being server-sided is correct.

Edit: That did not take long. I managed to do it :). Still, ShiKage was right, it is server-sided. I had to be online to be able to extract the information, and considering its a third party program, it might be considered a hack. And the forum rules says no discussion about hacks.

I am sorry for giving you all false hope :/. Guess hunting and "random-reward-quests" are the only possibilities.

Yay for having leftovers.
:tyml:

I think Nexon will do something about it, and if they don't an emergency patch will follow almost immediately.

For what? The monster book?

We lived without it at one point, we can do it for a couple more days/weeks.
Not like we can't live without it.
