So, I quit gms a long time ago. I don't plan on going back to gms. However I am interested in msea. I just don't know which server to join and what class to make. I was thinking of making a cleric since they are cheap but. After big bang, clerics/priests/bishops are less effective in training and more of a HS and heal slave. So any of you guys want to school me on msea? :cute:
Not that big bang is coming anytime soon but still. I'm a slow leveler. Especially since I'm going to be new.
You heard wrong. Or I have. I haven't heard MSEA releasing DBs the same time with GMS.
You've must've mistaken MSEA for JMS

Oh yeah, your right. Sorry about that. Was lurking around in jms earlier. Then I switched to msea. Got my facts mixed up :x

As of now, Evans are worth playing because of the dragon glasses event.
I think you need to download some proxy program because anyone not in Malaysia and Singapore (and THAILAND) are IP blocked.
But, you may want to learn Singlish, so you can understand the Singaporean maplers (e.g. Help with my homework lah!)
You also need to have a National ID to register for Asiasoft (NID's arent like KSSNs but oh well).
But GL with that f3

Yeah that's true, my second player is from New Zealand and he cant play it well.
If i not wrong MapleSEA has the express id sign up i'm not sure of this.
Singlish is really not important to learn. But when you get to know more about Maplesea , you will some words. But i don't encourage you to learn it.

Actually, those people who speak "Singlish" are childish minors, ranging from 7 - 13 year-olds.
I won't worry about them, there are people who speak English, perfect English (not to brag but, such as myself). I'll suggest you try either Delphinius/Eridanus or Fornax/Gemini.
And a proxy? Well, it depends on luck, if you're within a certain IP range, MSEA will accept the connection and let you through. But then, you need a NID to register for the passport, ah well.

I'm using hotspot shield right now and the loot lag is kinda annoying. Is there any other alternative?

MSEA is rather dead after the hacking incident on 2008, sadly I don't play it anymore :(

If you can somehow get an account that's created before 2007 you can have access to MSEA without any IP blockage.
For NRIC during registration, you can have plenty of them by googling "nric generat0r", if you've selected Malaysia as your country just type in any 12 numbers.

Kind of dead?
Our chn 1 crashes a lot near midnight, you think that's dead?

i just got back to maple this week. And for maplesea now no need identification number to make a asiasoft account. Although the population in maplesea has dropped alot since i played from 2006-2008 last time, it's still worth playing it i suppose.

sorry, not true. i created my account in 2005. played for a few years then stopped. came back recently and tried to connect from Japan, yet couldnt. i can play MSEA through hotspotshield, though the lag is horrendous. for every 1minute of training, it will take me several minutes just to manually loot my own mesos/drops. completely not worth it. also, i hate paying for things, but even i realize that getting a pet with meso magnet/item pouch is a must for this game. yet u cant buy any asiasoft cash without a prepaid card from the region. online payments are not accepted either. so unless u can get someone to buy it for u, then send the code by email or post, u will never be able to train effectively. just the lag alone makes me want to quit after 2 days of playing, though i have a level 107 character. such a waste.. as i want to level up more and fight some bosses.

Did they removed NRIC?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO expect more china hackers/botters
darkiller

apprently they did. now there are evan hackers + botters in just about every map... regardless of monster lvl/drops... they would most likely still be here even with national ID needed, but they are extremely irritating nonetheless.
honestly, as a MSEA player for 6++ years, I would discourage players not from sg or msia from playing MSEA...
1) we are behind most other servers in updates anyway (ATM)... even GMS has sped way ahead of us.
2) plently of KS wars, mega wars, vulgarity scolding/name calling/swearing, particularly in crowded worlds like Aquila.
3) quite a few waves of hacking (both the game and accounts) have came and go already....
4) poor customer service by AsiaSoft - you could probably say the same about GMS or other servers... but I'll just list some examples and you decide for yourself:
- hammer glitch, took AS more than a month to even acknowledge there was such a problem, and many glitched items were never removed
- non-existant GMs in game, and 'employment' of immature brats to be User Game Assitants (something like a down graded GM)
- latest: chnls 15 - 20 of Aquila server has been experiencing extreme lag (many players DC within 10mins of playing in the chnls) since 8th April, till now it is still not fixed. Worst still, they do not even acknowledge the fact that such a problem exists.
of course, us Singaporeans and Malaysians use plenty of Singish, Chinese, even Malay or Hokkien in our speech. it is a result of our multi-racial society/melting pot culture and you can either like it or leave it... ><
Naturally not everyone is a bad apple, its just that sadly those bad apples are particularly and annoyingly loud here. Unless you are drawn by our Singish speaking culture, I really can't think of a reason for others to come play MSEA.
(some say all the servers have bad communities, than i'm saying it aint different here... ya might as well try GMS or even JMS/KMS which are receiving faster updates...)

Being a MapleSEA player myself, I totally agree with darkiller in most of his points. MapleSEA is too outdated and it experiences crashes and patches VERY often that it makes training impossible sometimes.

Don't worry, because every time after selecting channel, you'll get something like captcha. For now, I don't see any botters.
MapleSEA ...
I rather play Fornax.
