I used to play the Touhou games a lot back in high school.

I still have all of the music because it's both nostalgic and good by itself. :P

From the 6th game on, they are for PC, and fairly easy to find via torrents and whatnot [try demonoid.com, for example -- if nothing's changed, it should have a torrent of games 1-11 with English menus, then separate torrents of 12, 12.3, and 12.5 -- search for "touhou" under games].

Games 1 through 5 you may have to emulate the PC98 console for. I'm not sure if anyone got around to actually porting them to work without an emulator. [You can find one: here (http://www.zophar.net/pc98.html).] I recommend the first one listed. :3

You could say they're 2D arcade shooters with RPG tones. "Bullet hell" comes to mind on the harder difficulties, but I'm sure a lot of people would classify normal as bullet hell, too, lol. I personally started playing them back in the day because the music was so nice, then later appreciated the gameplay. xD They're fun games.

Bear in mind that the story bits are in Japanese by default unless you find a copy that's been translated. So basically, when you're looking for the games, make sure that in the description it says that it's in English. The most popular ones (like Imperishable Night, Perfect Cherry Blossom, etc) have English patches, but often it's only the menus and not the story. So.. yeah. :P
